I have been teaching clay for a long time. I’ve observed over the years that most new potters tend to favor the throwing part of the process more than the trimming and glazing part. In my own pieces, I love to spend time on the finish work. Trimming, carving, glazing and surface are the focus of my new pots. I completely enjoy getting lost in this second stage of the process. These pieces are about appreciating nature and, by extension, this incredible art medium. Clay will always feel new to me, I will never get tired of it.
